Silvervine is a great way to promote play and relieve stress and anxiety in your cat. Give them dried fruit and watch them play! Many cats will play independently, batting the fruit around, however you can also encourage play by tossing and batting around with them!
Choice of regular size containing 55g of fruits or a large double size bag containing 110g of fruits.
These are the gall fruits of an ivy like plant called the Actinindia Polygama that is native to the mountains of Eastern Asia. Although relatively unknown in Northern America, the silver vine plant is more popularly used in Japan and China than traditional catnip among cat owners! It contains two naturally occurring oils that cats find irresistible similar how they naturally love catnip.
Many cats react to Silvervine (the vine of the Silvervine plant) even if they show little interest to catnip. A 2017 scientific study found 70% of cats had a reaction to catnip, however over 80% of cats had a reaction to silvervine, with many cats enjoying both!
Typical behaviors of cats on silvervine include rolling, chin and cheek rubbing, meowing, drooling and licking. Some cats will become kitten-like playing with toys and catching a case of the zoomies. Others will be more relaxed and will chill out in a dreamlike state.
Only the gall fruit contains sufficient amounts of the scent based attractants to trigger the euphoric reaction in cats. The other dried fruits from the plant (a more oblong shape) have shown to cause much less of a reaction.
Each bag contains approximately 15 whole dried fruits weighing ~2 oz in total. The fruits are fully dried and a very hard texture. It is safe for cats to consume bits of the fruit but they should be used as a supervised playtime toy only. When not being enjoyed, store in a sealed bag to maintain the freshness. Each fruit can be played with many times until it eventually disappears under the couch, bed, or other furniture!
Wow! Never heard of silver vine before. It really works on kitties. My kitty rolled on it and played with the hard fruit. She uses it like a ball and kicks it around. Well worth trying this product. I hope your kitty has as much fun as mine has.
My cat isn’t crazy about catnip but does sometimes react to silvervine. I decided to test the fruits and the powder from Meowy Jane. He played with the fruit for a little while and then got bored. The powder got him more intensely interested (I put it in a refillable toy that I find super cute but he never got into – you know the drill).
Certainly worth a try if your cat doesn’t react to catnip!
I have 3 cats and not one of them has shown any interest in either the Silvervine or the Valerian powder. Two of them are senior cats so they may have a diminished sense of smell, but they still like regular catnip. My biggest disappointment is that I can’t get a response from customer service.
Plenty come in the bag. Nice packaging. Let one cat sniff and he stole it from me! Had to get it back and put it in catnip bag so he wouldn’t destroy his gums trying to eat it. It is safe for them to eat but I would break it up. Will order again. Seller is an awesome communicator.
Both my cats love them. One will tap at the bag to get me to open it or dig it out of the trash. However… the other cat is a trouble maker and he attempts to eat these. I had to dig a shard out of his mouth, but I’m pretty sure he managed to eat a small piece. They are hard like walnuts, so I’m a bit worried. If you have a chill cat that doesn’t try to eat everything, you should be fine. They definitely love it much more than catnip.
HUGE hit immediately out of the bag. My calico was rolling around with it, cuddling it, kissing it. She’s so happy about this goofy little rock. I added one to their feeder ball toys, too, to scent the food and make it a little more difficult to knock the kibble out. So glad I bought two bags at once!
I gave this to my cats but no interest and my boyfriend threw the ones on the floor because he says it looks like poop. Lol
Love this stuff so much! It makes my cats act incredibly goofy. As long as you store them in a Ziploc bag, they seem to retain their effects forever. I’m so happy to have found this and to have found a seller that sells more than one measly fruit per pack. Exceptionally fast shipping too.
My cat didn’t get interested in these cute little buggers but a friend’s kitties sure did and it was a blast to watch, lol

My cats went so crazy over the ground version of these, that I figured they would love the whole ones too. I was so wrong. LOL my goofball cats just looked at them like “huh?” So I guess I’ll be grinding them up. The product looks great though, and you get a nice amount for the price. Shipping is super quick, too.
This was a gift so I can’t speak to the reaction of the cats in question, but arrived quickly, was packaged well, and looks good!
