What’s in the box?
Curry Comb (Short Hair Set)
– The rubber acts like a magnet to attract loose hair. It is flexible and light which is easy on skin. The gentle rubber reduces over stimulation from brushing, removes loose hair and massages skin. It is the best brush for sensitive areas, and to reduce heavy shedding without damaging the fur. This brush can also be used at bath time to help massage soap and water into the hair follicles gently while also removing loose hair.
Pin Brush (Long Hair Set)
-Lifts out loose hair and debris and detangling light tangles while distributing natural oils, leaving a shiny, healthy coat.
Slicker Brush
– A slicker is a flat metal brush that has small, fine wire bristles that are bent at a slight angle. Wire slickers are good at removing any loose fur. This brush is a ‘go to’ brush for removing undercoat or light tangles.
Bristle Brush
– A soft-bristled brush is good for removing dirt, debris, dead skin cells and loose hair from your dog’s coat. It will not brush down to the skin, but rather the top coat. Use this brush at the end of a grooming session to distribute their natural skin oils through the coat. It will make it shiny and smooth!
Flea Comb
– A flea comb isn’t just for fleas! They can also be used as a ‘precision brush’. Flea combs are great at removing any loose debris in your pets coat. Because the teeth are close together, they will also remove lots of dead hair. A flea comb is best used at the end of your brushing routine as a finishing tool or (as the name implies) to remove fleas or other small debris.
Nail Trimmers
– Trimming a dogs nails regularly has so many benefits! Not only does it prevent their nails from being sharp, but it gives your dog better traction when they walk and prevents arthritis, deformed feet and other foot injuries that can be caused by nail overgrowth.
Tick Keys
-Ticks are notorious for hitching a ride on our pets. If you notice one on your dog, it is very useful to have a tick key at your disposal. Simply slide the notched portion of the tick key around the tick and lift it forward to remove the whole tick.
How to Brush and Groom your Dog-
First, make sure your dog is comfortable and receptive to being touched. Begin with areas where your dog likes to be pet, usually on the back, between their ears, or sometimes under the chin. Brush with the grain, and concentrate on one area at a time. As your dog becomes receptive to being brushed, you can slowly make your way toward more sensitive areas. If they become uncomfortable, stop for a while, then you can continue when they return back to being comfortable. Over time, your dog will become accustomed to being brushed and will enjoy it!
Finish each brushing session with lots of attention or a special treat so they start to associate being brushed with good things!
